Organization Description: Team Placement Service has provided Medical, Dental and Scientific Research support services to the Federal Government and private sector since 1983. BioSearch, our biomedical and research division, recruits and employs a wide array of research scientists. The company is comprised of Scientists (Biologists, Microbiologists, Chemists, Biochemists, Immunologist, Virologists, Pharmacologist, etc.) serving in positions such as Principal Investigators, Research Associates, Research Assistants, Tissue Culture Technicians, Laboratory Animal Technicians, Biostatisticians, Bioinformatics Associates, Regulatory Affairs Associates, Quality Control (QC) Associates, Quality Assurance (QA) Associates, Product Managers, Biosurety / Biosecurity Associates, and Data Managers. Additionally our personnel support Clinical Research efforts and are engaged as Clinical Research Nurses, Clinical Research Associates, and Clinical Trials Specialists. Our professionals have various educational credentials including M.D, Ph.D., M.S., B.S., B.S.N., technical/trade school certification, and currently enrolled students.
During the last 18 years, Team Placement has been awarded over $15 million dollars in federal government contracts. We have never defaulted on any contract. Our federal government client base includes Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR), Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC), Fort Belvoir Federal Deployment Center and several institutes within the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Position Descriptions: Below please find several positions that we are presently recruiting. Please note that in addition to the positions below we are constantly recruiting for different positions as specific requirements become available to us. Position 1:
Develop a program to produce and characterize large quantities of effective Shigella subunit vaccines to include purification, quantitation and evaluation in tissue culture models and small animal models. Previous experience employing small-scale fermentors, FPLC and other chromatography systems, SDS-PAGE & western blots, animal immunizations and ELISA is required. PhD or MS in microbiology, immunology or an appropriate scientific discipline is required. Prior experience handling small animals such as mice and guinea pigs is highly desired. As a contractor this position supports the mission of a department within a Department of Defense research laboratory in Montgomery County, MD.
Position 2:
Evaluate Shigella vaccines in clinical and pre-clinical studies to include immunizing small animals, collecting blood, lymph nodes mucosal washes, and determining the immune response elicited after vaccination using cellular proliferation, ASC, ELISA, and immunobead multiplexing assays. Investigate the interactions between mucosal pathogens, vaccines, or adjuvants with cultured cell lines or primary cultures using immunofluorescent microscopy or biochemical assays. PhD or MS in microbiology, immunology or an appropriate scientific discipline is required. Prior experience handling small animals such as mice and guinea pigs is highly desired. As a contractor this position supports the mission of a department within a Department of Defense research laboratory in Montgomery County, MD.
Position 3:
Provide services in the capacity of a Biosurety Program Specialist for a Department of Defense Biosurety Office including 1) Management of the Biological Select Agent and Toxin (BSAT) Inventory to include developing a database and maintaining 100% accountability of BSATs within the facility, 2) Manage and administer the Biological Personnel Reliability Program (BPRP) in accordance with (IAW) AR 50-X, 3) Prepare & review Biosurety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Facility in order for program compliance IAW AR 50-X and Title 42 CFR Part 73, 4) Conduct laboratory inspections and exercises to ensure surety, safety and security regulatory compliance, 5) Conduct Biosurety related training and administer tests to ensure BPRP personnel fully understand all Biosurety principles and concepts. Assess test results to identify gaps or deficiencies and retrain personnel as needed, and 6) Maintain CDC applications, permits, personnel databases and other Biosurety records ensuring AFIP’s CDC Registration is up to date and accurate in order to perform authorized work with BSAT. Knowledge of medical and technical scientific terms is required. Knowledge of military protocols is desired. Prior laboratory experience in highly desired. Documented experience and knowledge of BSAT Safety; Personnel and Physical Security; Regulations and Inventory Control Management.
