Organization Description: The Biotechnology Institute has set a course to be a recognized leader in biotechnology education worldwide. Working to educate the public through partnerships with local, regional, state, national, and international educational efforts, it supports the pursuit of lifelong learning about the promise, achievements, and challenges of biotechnology. Its focus is active support for teachers and students, especially in the United States, to pursue studies, training, and careers in biotechnology in the pre-college through graduate years.
Located in the Nation's Capital, the Institute works in collaboration with national and international educational and research organizations in government and the private sector. At the national and global levels, it acts as a bridge between the biotechnology industry and educators, developing links between companies and their employees and teachers and students. The Institute has made a strong commitment to developing a more creative and culturally diverse biotechnology community.
