Resources and Services [Home] [Up] [Handbook Contents] The Division of Scientific Equipment and Instrumentation Services (DSEIS), Office of Research Services (ORS), is a central resource designed to meet the engineering and applied physical science needs of the intramural research programs. DSEIS supports the NIH community by providing prompt, cost-effective, high quality technical equipment services. The Division provides laboratory equipment maintenance and repair; computer repair; rental equipment; new equipment sales; asset management; custom instrumentation and equipment design, fabrication, modification; equipment installation, testing, refurbishment and calibration; and evaluation of laboratory equipment. If you need equipment in a hurry to start a new project or to replace a failed piece of equipment, there's a good chance DSEIS can meet your needs. The Division offers more than 3,700 pieces of laboratory equipment for rent, on a monthly or indefinite basis. Equipment can also be rented on a lease-purchase plan. Their program can help you reduce your capital investments, property transactions, and procurement efforts, and time. Their inventory includes state-of-the-art equipment used in a variety of research areas, including DNA sequencers and synthesizers, thermal cyclers, centrifuges, incubators, microscopes, vacuum pumps, computers, etc. DSEIS also provides all maintenance and pick-up and delivery services for each piece of equipment. More than 40 different types of equipment are available in stock for immediate sale.
