The NIH SACNAS (Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native American in Science) Chapter: 

Don't miss out on getting to know your NIH-SACNAS community as we continue to support one another in pursuing a career in STEM fields this summer. Whether you are a senior or junior member of SACNAS this is a great opportunity to network, get to know other members, and welcome summer interns to campus. Everyone is invited!

Summer Networking Lunch Schedule:

When: Every second Wednesday, 12:00-1:00 pm (ET); the specific dates are June 8th and 22nd and July 13th and 27th.
Bring your lunch and join us for some friendly informal conversation.

Who are we? We are a professional SACNAS chapter that provides a supportive and welcoming environment for Hispanics/Chicanos and Native Americans trainee and staff at the NIH to get together, exchange ideas, network, share successes, and strategize about future goals. Our chapter holds monthly meetings focus on scientific communication, networking, outreach, and career development to provide our members with resources and tools to improve and advance their careers. We are part of the National SACNAS organization (Society for the Advancement of Hispanics/Chicanos and Native Americans in Science). We welcome everyone to be part of our events.

Fellows of All Abilities (FAAb)

Please join us for our summer lunch meetings. Take advantage of this opportunity to meet other members, enjoy lunch together and get to know our community. We’ll meet virtually from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

Summer Networking Lunches Schedule:

When: Every second Wednesday, 1:00-2:00 pm (ET); the specific dates are June 15th and 29th, July 13th and 27th, and August 10th and 24th.

The mission of this group is to foster a community of awareness and support for individuals of all abilities including people with emotional/cognitive or physical disabilities or with chronic illnesses and their allies. We hope to discuss issues unique to individuals of all abilities both within and outside of science. We hold bring-your-own lunch gatherings to share concerns about and strategies for navigating the intersection of science and ability. Please join our listserv to learn more about our upcoming meetings.

Network of African-American Fellows at the NIH (NAAF): 

NAAF Weekly Summer Lunch meetings:

When: Every second Thursday, 12:00-1:00 pm, (ET); the specific dates are June 9, June 23, July 7, and July 21.

The mission of this group is to create an environment of support for African American scientists during their tenure at NIH. To fulfill this mission the network will focus on creating opportunities for professional development and personal connections amongst fellows, informing and exposing fellows to biomedical career options, and providing mentoring and support to incoming fellows. All summer interns, postbacs, grad students, postdocs, senior scientists and others who support the mission are welcomed to join.

NIH-Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender – Fellows and Friends (LGBT-FF)

Share lunch with other LGBTQIA+ fellows this summer. This is a great way to meet other LGBT-FF members and reconnect with good friends!

Our Summer Lunch Schedule:

The mission of this group is to provide a supportive community for postdoc, clinical fellow, and graduate student scientists who are also parents. This group explores the joys and challenges of juggling parenthood and a scientific career. Biweekly lunch meetings provide an opportunity to meet other scientist parents while learning more about topics such as time management, career, and general parenting questions. Everyone is welcome!
