Research and Development (R&D) bridges the gap between basic science and business. This starts with applied research directed toward solving some general problem, then refines the technologies or processes of applied research into immediately usable products. R&D scientists provide strong technical, strategic, and organizational leadership by managing and directing research projects; planning and executing experiments; and generating, analyzing, and presenting data. These individuals make significant contributions to multi-disciplinary teams and ensure high quality, efficient, and timely execution of scientific projects.

If you are interested in a career in R&D, this month's career development panel is for you! We have a great mix of local professionals to discuss transitioning from academia to industry, ways to learn business and leadership skills, and how to actually land that R&D job.

This event will be webinared. In-person participation is encouraged, and a webinar is available for those who cannot make it:

This event is sponsored by the NIH FelCom Career Development Subcommittee. A written summary of the session will be posted for fellows who are unable to attend.
