Discussion for Building Resilience - Trainees with Disabilities

Discussion Group/Brown Bag: Personal Development

Nov 28, 2018

Speaker(s): Annie Scheiner, LCMFT, OITE Wellness Advisor
This event is recommended for: Postbacs; Graduate Students; Postdocs/Fellows.

Join us for a discussion of your experience as an NIH trainee with a disability. Do you feel like others don't understand what you go through?  Do you sometimes feel alone or wonder if other trainees share your concerns? Do you want to hear how others are navigating their work and career-decision making process and how/if they discuss their needs with their PI or others in their research group? Do you wish NIH provided more resources and support for you to thrive here? This OITE discussion group is for trainees with disabilities at all training levels (postbacs, grads, and postdocs). We hope to open dialogue around issues trainees with disabilities face with the goal of forming a trainee affinity group supported by the OITE.

Please join us on Wednesday, November 28th at 9:00 am for a discussion with OITE Wellness Advisor, Annie Scheiner.  The discussion group provides a welcoming and confidential space to explore positive and proactive methods to build resilience and self-care skills. Even if you can’t join us for the entire hour, we encourage you to still attend.  We would rather you come late or leave early, than not come at all.
