Discussion for Building Resilience - Dealing with difficult PIs and lab/research group transitions

Discussion Group/Brown Bag: Personal Development

Dec 04, 2018

Speaker(s): Annie Scheiner, LCMFT, OITE Wellness Advisor
This event is recommended for: Graduate Students; Postdocs/Fellows.

This week we will focus on how to deal with difficult situations and transitions.  Are you dealing with a difficult PI or other important science mentor? Are you not sure how to open a productive dialog about career transitions, projects, papers, and personal needs?  Are you transitioning into a new career path, and don’t know how to tell your research mentors or that you want to negotiate about leave time, the order of authors on a paper, etc.  No matter what the situation, we want to help you turn a potentially stressful situation into a positive interaction.  You aren't alone.  Let’s talk about it.

Please join us on Tuesday, December 4th at 3:00 pm for a discussion with OITE Wellness Advisor, Annie Scheiner.  The discussion group provides a welcoming and confidential space to explore positive and proactive methods to build resilience and self-care skills. Even if you can’t join us for the entire hour, we encourage you to still attend.  We would rather you come late or leave early, than not come at all.
