Research and Development (R&D) bridges the gap between basic science and business. This starts with applied research directed toward solving some general problem, then refines the technologies or processes of applied research into immediately usable products. R&D scientists provide strong technical, strategic, and organizational leadership by managing and directing research projects; planning and executing experiments; and generating, analyzing, and presenting data. These individuals make significant contributions to multi-disciplinary teams and ensure high quality, efficient, and timely execution of scientific projects.
