Discussion for Building Resilience - Anxiety and Depression

Discussion Group/Brown Bag: Personal Development; Wellness

Nov 08, 2019

Speaker(s): Laurie Chaikind McNulty, LCSW-C, OITE Wellness Advisor
This event is recommended for: Postbacs; Graduate Students; Postdocs/Fellows.

We all experience anxiety during stressful events like taking a test, giving a talk, or experiencing a new social situation, and sometimes the causes and the symptoms of anxiety are a bit more difficult to pinpoint.  Anxiety may cause feelings of inner turmoil and worry that may manifest into physical symptoms, interfere with functioning, and have other impacts including, sometimes depression. Alternatively, depression may also lead to increased anxiety.   This may lead to feeling overwhelmed that can get in the way of being able to function.

Please join us on Friday, November 8 at 12:45pm for a discussion with OITE Wellness Advisor, Laurie Chaikind McNulty. The discussion group provides a confidential and welcoming space to explore postive and proactive methods to build resilience and self-care skills with other trainees having similar experiences.  Even if you can't join us for the entire hour, we encourage you to still attend.  We would rather you arrive late or leave early, than not attend at all.
