Do you plan to use your telework time to write a paper, start a literature review, or work on your dissertation? Do you need some help getting started? Being at home can make it difficult to establish the structure and routine needed for productive daily writing. Join us via Zoom each Monday at 1:30 PM for tips to help you put words into that excruciatingly empty Word document or finally find the perfect an appropriate sentence to conclude that pesky paragraph. We’ll start with exercises to get your pen moving or your fingers flying, then use that flow to dive into a dedicated writing session. But that’s not the end. You got started for Monday – what about Tuesday? Hold yourself accountable to write throughout the week with check-ins on Tuesday and Thursday at 1:30 PM.

Topic for 7/27: Traditional Publishing

Traditional journal publishing: Instead of trying the spaghetti-sticking approach or impact factors, let’s talk about the best ways to identify a journal for your manuscript, and then how to navigate the submission process. We will look at several levels of journals and discuss pros/cons of each, along with the hidden importance of cover letters and how to appeal decisions you don’t agree with.

Mondays, 1:30 – 2:30 PM
Accountability check-in: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:30 – 1:45 PM
