Although negativity bias within the human species is well-documented as part of our inherited biological survival tendencies, it can really get in the way of our experiencing and enjoying the good things in life.  We seldom pause to really “take in” a beautiful scene from nature, a loving gesture from someone close to us, or the satisfaction of reaching a goal (off to the next experiment…).  It might be particularly difficult to do this during the current time of the pandemic and other distressing news, which makes it even more important to "take in" what is positive in our lives right now.  This week’s Mindfulness Meditation will help us practice a four-step process developed by Dr. Rick Hanson for “Taking in the Good.”  Give yourself 30 minutes to explore how this practice can help you bring more positivity into your life.
