It's not uncommon for us to take our body for granted, only really noticing it when we are ill or injured.  Since we’re given only one body in this lifetime, it makes sense to pay more attention to it and to do so with kindness and gratitude for all the things it does for us every day.  The Compassionate Body Scan is a meditation practice that helps us cultivate “appreciative awareness” of our physical selves.
