A 2021 Virtual Graduate & Professional School Fair - Exhibitor Q&A session was held on March 10. You can now view a recording of the event.

During this webinar, the NIH Office of Intramural Training & Education (OITE) provided information about the fair structure and online exhibits. A list of FAQs for exhibitors is located at

The fair provides an opportunity for you to meet and recruit up-and-coming young scientists taking part in the NIH Postbaccalaureate Program.  Many of our approximately 1600 postbaccalaureate trainees will apply to graduate or professional school for fall 2022.  They are a diverse population, representing educational institutions across the United States.  They typically have completed extensive undergraduate coursework in the sciences and a variety of research and/or clinical experiences.  Our trainees are interested in pursuing PhD, MD, MPH, and DDS degrees or combinations thereof.  In recent years they have matriculated in programs in the biomedical sciences, engineering, chemistry, public health, psychology, genetic counseling, pharmacy, medicine, nursing, and dentistry.

This year the fair will welcome all interested college students, postbacs, and other interested young scientists.

The 2021 Virtual NIH Graduate & Professional School Fair will consist of (1) live workshops on getting to graduate and/or professional school (July 19th, 2021) and (2) online exhibitor sessions - the opportunity for you to meet and speak with our students (July 20th-22nd, 2021). Additionally, students will be able to access to prerecorded workshops, panels, and interviews covering career paths in disciplines including public health, clinical psychology, and data science and discussing strategies for successful test-taking and stress management during application season.

Please pick a date and time during the period from July 20th through July 22nd (1.5 hour or 3 hours between 12:00 and 6:00 PM Eastern Time), create an online meeting, and share your plan with us by Friday, April 30th, 2021. We will include your meeting information on our webpage and share a compiled list of online meeting information with registered students and NIH postbacs and summer interns. The choice of online platform, meeting structure, and date/time is yours.

Note: You may want to record your exhibitor session to allow participants later access. If you decide to do this, please remember that in several states individuals cannot be recorded without their permission. You might want to put a note on the event registration screen indicating that “This event will be recorded and shared. Your registration indicates your willingness to be recorded.”

We are excited about this plan, and we hope many of you will choose to join us. If you have any questions, please contact Jackie the NIH Office of Intramural Training & Education.
