GSC Liaisons
- FelCom Liaison — FelCom (Fellows' Committee) meets monthly to discuss issues and concerns of clinical and basic research fellows from every institute at the NIH, as well as FDA/CBER and USUHS. FelCom members are involved in numerous programs aimed at improving the training experience at the NIH. The entire listing of FelCom subcommittees can be found at https://www.training.nih.gov/felcom. Social/networking events are a regular occurrence, and NIH graduate students are welcome to attend nearly all FelCom social events. The GSC-FelCom Liaison is responsible for attending the monthly GSC and FelCom meetings and keeping FelCom officers and members aware of the events and activities taking place in the NIH graduate student community.
- FAES Liaison — The Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences (FAES) provides educational and professional services in addition to fostering a collegial environment for the NIH scientific community. As such, FAES provides graduate students with educational opportunities and health insurance. In addition, FAES provides us with the Graduate Student Lounge (Building 10, Room 4-3330), a unique space for graduate students to meet, study, and conduct events specific to the NIH graduate community. The FAES liaison of the GSC provides a critical voice for graduate students in the design and implementation of FAES initiatives.
- Postbac Liaison – The liaison to the Postbaccalaureate Committee works to deepen our relationship with the postbaccalaureate community at NIH and helps organize joint events.
- OxCam Liaison – The liaison to the Oxford-Cambridge Program furthers our relationship with this unique graduate program. As such, the liaison has helped secure attendance for NIH Graduate Students at the monthly OxCam clinical case conferences, which bridge the gap between basic and translational science.
