Mentorship

The Mentorship Committee organizes events to provide mentorship to graduate students beyond their primary supervisor. This committee also hosts seminar series to learn more about career paths in academia and non-academic paths. First, the “Academic Journey and Building Networks” series invites two NIH principal investigators who provide valuable advice to graduate students on how to succeed in graduate school and beyond. The ‘PhDs in the Real World' series invites speakers including GPP alumni to present their career paths outside of academia. Past lecturers have included data scientists, consultants, and industry professionals. Both series are informal and allow graduate students to ask a lot of questions. Follow GSC networks (under Stay Connected) to attend upcoming events.
