Directions to the International Expo venues

The 2016 International Opportunites Expo will be held on the NIH Campus in the Clinical Center (Building 10) at the new FAES Academic Center/Terrace and Masur Auditorium. You can travel by METRO or by car. Because parking on the NIH campus is limited, visitors are advised to use the METRO. NIH is located on the Red LIne at the Medical Center stop. If you choose to drive, please park in the
MLP-11 garage located just outside the Gateway Visitors Center. The entrance to the garage is just south of the Main South Drive Entrance.

NIH Visitor Information and Directions

Security Procedures for Entering the NIH Campus
Information can be found at

Visitor Gateway Center

Visitors will be required to show one (1) form of identification, specifically, a government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, green card, etc.) and to state the purpose of their visit.

The NIH Gateway Center is located adjacent to the Medical Center Metro Station at the South Drive entrance to campus from Rockville Pike/Wisconsin Avenue (Route 355). It combines visitor parking, non-commercial vehicle inspection and visitor ID processing, all in one location. The NIH will process all visitors, whether they enter the campus in vehicles or as pedestrians.

Getting to the NIH Clinical Center

Once you have received your security badge, exit the building.  Use the NIH Campus Map to guide you to the South Entrance of Building 10, the NIH Clinical Center.  When you reach the Building, use the first floor map to guide you to the FAES Terrace.  NOTE: both maps have north at the top.

NIH Shuttle
Once you have received your security badge, exit the building. You are now within the NIH campus, and the waiting area for NIH shuttles will be directly to your right. The NIH "Limited" Campus Shuttle is the fastest shuttle to the NIH Clinical Center. The shuttle route map and the time of arrival of the next vehicle are both available online. The shuttle stops at the South Entrance to the Clinical Center first (it later stops at the North Entrance). Use the first floor map to find your way to the FAES Terrace.

Directions to the FAES Classrooms

From Masur Auditorium, go north, past the Main Elevators. Look for the bookstore/coffee shop on your right and a sign from the ceiling saying "FAES Academic Center." Take a right down the hallway, through the double-door; then take the steps down to the lower level. Rooms 1-4 are on your right and Rooms 5-8 are on your left.

Wheelchair Access via Main elevator:

Take the Main Elevators outside Masur to the B1 level. Follow the "FAES Academic Center" signs down the hallway towards the Post Office. Across from the Post Office, enter the FAES Academic Center on the left. Once inside the FAES academic Center, Rooms 1-4 are on your left and Rooms 5-8 are on your right.

To get to the Terrace, head north from Masur Auditorium. Go past  Café 10 and the FAES Bookstore, and immediately turn right. The terrace is down the hall and up a few steps.

Alternate accessible route:

The Terrace is accessible by ramp. From the Masur Auditorium, head north and take a right toward the Lipsett Amphitheatre. Half-way down the hallway, look for a sign on you left for the Dental Clinic. Take a left there. The Terrace is on your left, so continue to the end of the hallway, go around the corner, and up the ramp.
