Postdoctoral Fellow Immunology

About the position

Postdoctoral fellow candidates are being considered for the laboratory of Dr. Christian T. Mayer at the Experimental Immunology Branch, National Cancer Institute, with a possible starting date from June 2025. The laboratory is investigating how different types of programmed cell death regulate the development, differentiation and/or function of various immune cells, with a particular focus on B lymphocyte development. Moreover, the group explores how these pathways contribute to self-tolerance, autoimmunity, inflammatory diseases, protective immunity and/or malignancies. Qualifications

Candidates must have completed a Ph.D, M.D or equivalent degree and have less than 5 years (preferably none or less than 2 years) of postdoctoral experience. Ambitious applicants with a strong publication record and/or experience in mouse immunology are particularly encouraged to apply. The candidate should be highly self-motivated, have strong organizational and time management skills, be able to work independently and have excellent writing and communication skills.
