About the position
Join the Neurosurgery Unit for Pituitary and Inheritable Diseases at NIH in an exciting journey through the complex landscape of tumor biology and physiology. We are looking for highly motivated and passionate post-doctoral candidates interested in leveraging the power of state-of-the-art genomic techniques to uncover the secrets of mammalian pituitary gland and central nervous system (CNS) tumors.
Our collaborative and pioneering group has already made significant strides in the pathogenesis of pituitary adenomas (PMID: 36001971, PMID: 28505327, PMID: 28986303) and other CNS tumors (PMID: 37018064, PMID: 28094316).
Be part of our team as we map the transcriptional landscape of the post-natal human pituitary gland and delve into key pathogenic mechanisms underlying pituitary adenomas causing Cushing’s disease. Immerse yourself in rich datasets including bulk RNAseq, single cell/single nucleus RNAseq, single cell multiome, bulk methylation and genomic sequencing datasets for pituitary (normal and adenoma), schwannomas and other CNS tumors associated with neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2) and von Hippel Lindau disease (VHL).
As a valued member of our team, you will work closely with dedicated bioinformaticians, exploring richly annotated, existing datasets to extract key insights into post-natal canonical cell class states, tumor cell evolution, intra-tumoral and inter-tumoral heterogeneity, and genotype-phenotype associations in inheritable diseases (NF2 and VHL).
Your role will extend beyond analysis; you will design projects to investigate and validate find- ings mechanistically, spearheading specific projects and manuscripts. We are eager to welcome our new post-doc in the second half of 2023, but we are flexible with the start date for the right candidate.
