MSC is currently searching for a Research Associate to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is part-time (24 hours a week), and it is on site in Bethesda, MD.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience performing and analyzing laboratory techniques including: RNA isolation, rtPCR, DNA genotyping, ELISA, Western Blot, and Flow Cytometry.
  • Experience with human sample procedures
  • Experience with in vitro cell culture techniques including: cell isolation from human blood, cytokine stimulation, and culture of human cell lines.
  • Experiment design and execution, followed by data collection, analysis, interpretation. Summarize results in a manuscript to be published in a peer reviewed scientific journal.
  • Operate and communicate effectively in a group, team-oriented working environment.
  • Offers time to assist post-doctoral fellows with their projects and volunteers time to clean and organize common laboratory space.

Position Requirements:

  • BS degree in Biomedical Sciences or related discipline; MS degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience performing and analyzing laboratory techniques including: RNA isolation, rtPCR, DNA genotyping, ELISA, Western Blot, and Flow Cytometry.
  • Demonstrated experience with human sample procedures
  • Experience with in vitro cell culture techniques including: cell isolation from human blood, cytokine stimulation, and culture of human cell lines.
