Staff Scientist - Infectious Disease Pre-Clinical Studies

Position Description:

BIOQUAL Inc., founded in 1981, is a small-business CRO which provides preclinical support for rodent to Non-Human Primate (NHP) studies. Fully accredited by the Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC) and ABSL-3 level biocontainment capabilities, BIOQUAL has four locations in Rockville area. BIOQUAL provides R&D support for wide variety of in vivo and in vitro studies, including those requiring Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), to commercial and government sponsor labs.

Responsibilities:

BIOQUAL Inc. is currently seeking a Staff Scientist to support infectious disease pre-clinical studies which require extensive multiparameter flow cytometry technical experience. The scientist should be able to independently manage the studies including planning, data analysis, drafting of protocols, reports and SOPs and other daily activities. The scientist should be able to trouble shoot and train others on flow cytometry methods including sorting.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Microbiology, Immunology, Infectious Disease or related field;
  • Extensive experience with all aspects of flow cytometry including instrument standardization, calibration, and assay optimization. Proficiency in Flow Jo, Diva or other related softwares is a must;
  • Knowledge or experience in working with animals is preferred; working knowledge of NHPs is ideal;
  • Should be able to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines;
  • Candidates should have excellent written and communication skills.
