Scientist - Translational Immunology

Position Description:

We are seeking highly motivated and creative Scientist, Translational Immunology (I or II, level to be determined by candidate experience) to join the Precigen team in Germantown, MD. In this lab-based position, the successful candidate will focus on the development and analysis of novel clinical biomarkers for proof of concept to early clinical development programs. The optimal candidate will have a strong scientific background and experience executing on cancer immunotherapy biomarker programs.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Identify, evaluate, and characterize relevant tumor biomarker candidates that will provide useful pharmacodynamic and efficacy endpoints in preclinical and clinical settings.
  • Be a contributor to the development of new technology platforms to improve biomarker discovery efforts.
  • Manage timelines and deliverables.
  • Develop reports for various projects.
  • Utilization of appropriate technology, i.e. Outlook, PowerPoint, and other programs to create and distribute reports and key information.
  • Coordination of parallel tasks across multiple projects, demonstrating prioritization.
  • Interpret and effectively execute upon a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram or schedule formats. 

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Ph.D. (3+ years of experience) or Master’s (5+ years of experience) oncology, immunology, pathology, molecular biology, cell biology or related field.
  • Experience developing biomarker strategies in a clinical development setting and/or in preclinical biomarker discovery.
  • Extensive experience in multiparameter flow cytometric immunophenotyping and flow-cytometry-based cell sorting is required. Experience with FACSLyric preferred, but not required.
  • Strong background in tumor biology.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of immunology, in vivo and/or in vitro immune-oncology models, and state of the art immunoassay technologies.
  • Experience in analysis of large datasets and knowledge of biostatistics.
