Medical Chemistry Analytical Scientist

Position Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Analytical Scientist to join Innovent Biologics. You will lead the analytical program both on small molecules, including metabolites. You will also take on the internal QC responsibility for the development of small molecule compounds, drug-linkers. You will work closely with synthetic chemists, conjugation chemists, and biologists to push the platform and pipeline projects forward, and act as a liaison between discovery and development groups.  You may engage with external CROs for bioanalytical tasks.

You are expected to maintain a significant level of productivity in the laboratory setting, stay up to date with the analytical technology and improve the internal compound analytical methods. You are expected to facilitate the publication and patent protection of research work.


  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, or related scientific disciplines.
  • 5+ years of post-doctoral (for principal scientist), or 0-3 year after Ph.D. or 3-5 years after M.S. work experience in bioanalysis that required advanced mass spectrometry assay development, preferably in the pharma/biotech industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of small molecule, biologics analysis using various analytical tools, especially LC-MS.
  • Good understanding of the principles of biology, DMPK.
  • Experience to execute analysis plans for pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics data.
  • Prior experience with targeted delivery platforms (antibody-drug conjugates or small-molecule drug conjugates) is desirable.
  • Leadership skills, including project management, technical issue identification and resolution, and a good knowledge of lab safety.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Team player with a strong desire to achieve broad team goals.
