Program Manager – Cancer Epidemiology

Position Description:

EvalGroup, a federal contracting firm, is looking for a Program Manager (PM) to support a major Department Health and Human Services (HHS) client.  This PM will support the corporate office in its growth strategies. This position provides an excellent benefits package that includes retirement company matching, travel reimbursements, flexible PTO schedule, health/vision/dental, flexible work schedule and remote work opportunities.
 
Our ideal candidate will:
  1.  Be an accomplished Public Health professional with Master of Public Health (MPH) or PhD in a closely related field. 
  2. Have ten or more years of public health and/or research experience.
Program Manager duties include:
  • Provide oversight in the development of scientific, technical and consumer presentations and documents related to public health and tobacco. 
  • Lead systematic reviews to inform the scientific research and suggestions for future research.
  • Build project-wide knowledge by developing, distributing, and maintaining policies and procedures and related documentation.
  • Manage project related requests, to include tracking of milestones, scheduling meetings, recording, summarizing and distributing notes regarding project progress, anticipating needed next steps for time-critical projects, and responding quickly and clearly to project-related requests.
  • Establish and maintain liaison with organizations and individuals involved and interested in tobacco use prevention and control research, including, but not limited to, researchers, grantees, other Governmental agencies, not-for-profit organizations, professional societies, medical schools, public health schools and other academic health schools or centers, industry, voluntary groups, and educational groups.
  • Support collaborative activities related to the diffusion, dissemination, and delivery of research to the health community by preparing blog posts, social media promotion toolkits and hosting events.
  • Coordinate support for development and production of monographs and scientific publications. 
  • Assemble and lead project staff of all levels; mentor team members on research, effective communication, and leadership skills.
  • Oversee management of project scope, technical resources, finances, technical integration, risk, change and communications.
  • Collect, evaluate, and compress data and information to monitor and report on trends and the progress of the project to all stakeholders.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of working systems and processes to recommend and implement efficient and effective changes for better performance.
  • Use strong analytical reasoning to understand business process management and end user’s business requirements to develop full-scale project plans 

Qualifications:

  • Ability and experience creating scientific publications.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience required; 7 years’ experience supporting similar type federal contracts 
  • At least five (5) years of overall project management experience and working knowledge of quality assurance principles and methodologies required 
  • Experienced leadership skills, including delegation, motivation, negotiation, coaching, and conflict management 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
