Executive Director- Neurogenomics and Informatics

Position Description:

The ED works closely with the Director of the Center to identify the future direction for Center growth and services and creates action and business plans to meet established goals. The ED will also work with other faculty members of the NGI to administer, coordinate, and facilitate collaborative research in neurodegeneration. Duties include managing center budget, coordinating and managing internal grant program activities, managing and coordinating the seminars of the center.


  • Terminal degrees may be PhD, MD, DO or MD-PhD with a health-related focus.
  • Preferred areas of professional expertise include neuroscience, neurodegeneration, genomics and related omics, and bioinformatics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership, management and organizational skills, with emphasis on analytical thinking, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, financial and business forecasting, financial management, and budgeting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations in a complex academic environment.
  • Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity, make quality decisions, motivate staff, be flexible, and multi-task.
  • Proven ability to define issues, strategically plan options, propose solutions, and effectively implement changes in a timely fashion in a complex environment
  • Thorough knowledge of university financial system is strongly desired
