Position Description:
The Lynch Lab at the George Washington University Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Tropical Medicine in Washington, DC is currently recruiting for a Postdoctoral position. The department focuses on basic and translational research to advance the understanding of infectious diseases. The Lynch lab is also a part of the GWU Research Center for the Eradication of HIV. The main research focus of the Lynch lab is investigating the impact of neutralizing antibodies on both the virus and infected cells for the development of potent preventative and therapeutic agents against HIV infection and flavivirus infection.

The lab is seeking a highly motivated recent PhD graduate for a postdoctoral position to study early B cell responses in HIV-1 infection and vaccination including pairing genetic analysis of the B-cell repertoire with functional analysis of circulating antibodies.

Qualifications:
The position requires a Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology or similar and a strong publication and presentation record. Experience in bioinformatics is desired and experience in virologic and immunoassays, cell culture, molecular cloning and protein production is recommended. Ability to troubleshoot and develop own protocols as well as an ability to work both as a team and independently is required.
