Copper Homeostasis in the Brain

Position Description:

The NIH funded postdoctoral position available immediately for a recent PhD or MD/PhD graduate to study the role of copper homeostasis in the mammalian central nervous system and to develop an animal model for neurologic Wilson disease.

The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic research environment in the area with significant fundamental and clinical significance. Job location: Department of Physiology, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant would have strong background in neuroscience and/or cell biology, have experience with confocal microscopy, primary cell culture, utilization of biological or chemical sensors, molecular cloning, and basic biochemistry. Familiarity with analyses of transcriptomes and proteomes is a significant strength.
