Early Prenatal Biomarkers of Risk for Neuropsychiatric Dysfunction

Position Description:

The Developing Brain Institute has an opening for a postdoctoral fellowship. The research project will focus on identifying prenatal origins of neuropsychiatric disorders. The project involves using resting-state functional MRI to characterize emerging functional brain connectivity in healthy and at-risk fetuses and newborn infants.  The goal of this project will be to identify the earliest signs of prenatal onset impaired brain circuitry in high risk clinical populations, and to develop reliable biomarkers of risk that will lead to the development of effective interventions that minimize long-term adverse neuropsychiatric dysfunction.  The position is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of this rapidly developing new field.


The position requires a Ph.D. in neuroscience, engineering and/or a related field.  A background in neuroimaging techniques, MATLAB and/or computer programming is preferred.  The candidate is expected to have an emerging track record of publishing in academic journals, strong analytic skills, and capable of working within a collaborative environment.
