Vascular and Molecular Biology
Position Description:
The Molecular Entomology Section, Laboratory of Malaria and Vector Research, NIAID/NIH is seeking a talented Postdoctoral Fellow to join a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team of researchers focused on medical entomology. Our primary goal is to understand the role of saliva in blood feeding and pathogen transmission by arthropods. This position requires significant scientific judgment and advanced academic qualifications. Selected candidate is expected to conduct complex bench work and technical analysis in the fields of vascular biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology among others. This position is for an initial two (2) years contract with a maximum length of four (4) years based on performance and fund availability. Accepted candidate is expected to start his/her tour by June/July 2023. Underrepresented minorities in science are encouraged to apply!
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or related area, with up to 6 months of postdoctoral experience
- Curiosity-driven and highly motivated researcher
- Demonstrated record of scientific achievements in vascular biology
- Platelet aggregometry, coagulometry, cell culture, complement assays, and animal work (murine) experience is required
- Extremely organized with detailed-oriented personality
- Ability to work independently and within a diverse team of scientists
in a collaborative spirit - An excellent interpersonal and communication (English) skill is essential.
