Cancer Therapeutics - Role of Reactive Oxygen Species

Position Description:

Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis (DCTD), the DCTD is inviting qualified applications for a postdoctoral research position in the area of cancer therapeutics. The candidate will perform basic research on NADPH oxidase mediated signaling mechanisms in cancer therapeutics. The candidate will investigate the role of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the regulation of gene expression, signal transduction, and proliferation in human tumor cell systems as well as clinical samples.  This research effort also focuses on the development of small molecule inhibitors targeting reactive oxygen-generating epithelial tumor cell NADPH oxidases. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with demonstrated scientific productivity to join the laboratory.  Experience in eukaryotic molecular pharmacology and signal transduction is required; expertise in cell- and in vivo-based molecular pharmacodynamics and free radical biology is also desirable. 


Ideal candidate will have a PhD degree in biochemistry, molecular/tumor biology, or related disciplines and preferably prior experience in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. Communication skills and the ability to collect, analyze, compile, and communicate complex scientific data both verbally and in writing is an essential prerequisite for this position.  Salary is commensurate with research experience and accomplishments.
