Psychology/Psychiatry/Neuroscience Fellow

National Institute of Mental Health, Section on Mood Dysregulation and Neuroscience, Bethesda, MD and surrounding area

Position Description:

The NIMH Section on Mood Dysregulation and Neuroscience (SMDN), led by Dr. Ellen Leibenluft, is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position to start in 2021.

SMDN focuses on discovering the behavioral and brain mechanisms mediating irritability and related symptoms in youth, and on using those discoveries to inform treatment. Our tools for studying mechanisms of psychopathology include functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), psychophysiology, and cognitive and behavioral experiments. We have a strong commitment to mentoring, focusing on helping fellows to design studies, analyze data, author papers, apply for grants, and present their work. Opportunities for supervised hours toward clinical psychology licensure are also available.

Candidates must have completed, or be in the process of completing, a PhD or MD degree. Candidates with a degree in psychology, neuroscience, or related fields are encouraged to apply. A background in MRI, advanced statistics, and/or advanced coding is preferred but not required.
