Position Description:

The Natural Products Chemistry Section in the Laboratory of Bioorganic Chemistry, NIDDK, NIH, Bethesda, MD, seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to contribute to a multi-disciplinary research team whose goals include natural products and antibiotic discovery, high-resolution structural and biochemical characterization of biosynthetic genes, and rigorous structure elucidation of novel natural products. Additional projects in the lab include protein engineering and carbohydrate recognition. 
The position is fully funded and located on the main NIH campus in the greater Washington DC area. Applicants must be US citizens or have permanent resident status.


Candidates must have a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree awarded within the past 2 years, a record of at least two first-author publications in peer-reviewed international journals, demonstrated expertise in modern NMR and Mass Spectrometry techniques or biomolecular NMR or X-ray crystallography, and be fluent in written and spoken English. Familiarity with molecular biology, biochemical or biophysical techniques is desirable.
