Chromatin Regulation in Neural Development and Disease

Position Description:

Multiple post-doctoral positions are available with Dr. Lisa Boxer in the Laboratory of Genome Integrity at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to study chromatin regulation of neural development. The Boxer lab uses molecular and genomic approaches to study how mutations in chromatin regulators disrupt neuronal gene expression and lead to neurodevelopmental disorders and cancer.
 
Dr. Boxer joined the Laboratory of Genome Integrity as a Stadtman Investigator in January 2022. Dr. Boxer was a post-doctoral fellow with Michael Greenberg at Harvard Medical School where she studied the role of MECP2 in Rett syndrome.
 
Dr. Boxer is part of a highly integrated, interactive and collaborative research environment that provides an ideal training and mentoring setting for young scientists. Her research group is adjacent to the laboratories of Branch Chief Andre Nussenzweig, Senior Investigators Eros Lazzerini Denchi and Avinash Bhandoola, and Stadtman Investigator Sergio Ruiz Macias.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology, neuroscience, or a related field. The candidate should have experience with or be committed to acquiring expertise in molecular biology, genomics, and cellular and mouse models of neurodevelopmental disorders.
