Post-doc (Visiting) Fellow Position: Biochemistry/Biophysics: ABC Transporters and Multidrug Resistance

National Cancer Institute, Bethesda, MD and surrounding area

Position Description:

This position is available immediately. Our group studies the role of ABC transporters in the development of multidrug resistance in cancer cells. Emphasis is upon the elucidation of the mechanism of action of the ABC transporters. Biochemical, molecular biological, biophysical, molecular pharmacological and molecular modeling approaches are used. Recently we demonstrated that P-gp (ABCB1) can be converted from a drug exporter to a drug importer pump.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or M.D. and less than one year of postdoctoral experience. Candidates should have research experience in biochemistry/biophysics and an interest in structure-function analysis of membrane proteins. Salary and health benefits as per the NCI rules.
