Career Transition Series Unit 2 – Setting a Course for Success

Speaker: Denise Saunders, OITE

About this event

Change and transition are a part of life. Whether your next steps involve furthering your education and training or accepting a fulltime position, the training experience at the NIH has led to preparation for a transition and professional next steps. This 3-part series focuses on skills needed to successfully make career and professional transitions. Each workshop will focus on a different stage of the career transition and allow participants to plan and prepare for the transition, establish a framework for success and engage in career self-management. Participants are encouraged to attend all three workshops but not required.

New experiences and life/career roles can challenge us in different ways. Finding opportunities to connect with others in the workplace and community help us ease into transitions. Understanding expectations and effective communication with others serve as keys to successful career transitions. The second workshop in the Career Transitions Series – Setting a Course for Success - will focus on strategies designed to help trainees settle into their new roles and adjust to new environments. Join us for a presentation followed by group discussion about upcoming transitions.
