The FAES/GPP Graduate Student Lounge

The Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences (FAES) Graduate Partnerships Program (GPP) Graduate Student Lounge is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of graduate students at the NIH.

WHAT IS IT?

  • A central location for students to assemble to build community and network with one another
  • A semi-private venue to participate in a wide variety of professional community-building endeavors
  • A quiet and secure place for students to study and work towards reaching their academic and scientific milestones
  • A quiet spot to read or relax

WHERE IS IT?
The new Graduate Student Lounge is located in Building 10, Room 4-3330.  From the Clinical Center atrium, take the East Corridor (1-4400) past the pharmacy pick-up to the end of the hallway, and take the elevator to the fourth floor. You can find a map to the lounge here.

WHAT WILL I FIND THERE?
The Lounge amenities include a projector for presentations, a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee pot, comfortable furniture, and much more to come!  The official lounge policy for use can be found here.  Some basic Lounge rules include:

  • Clean up after yourself.
  • Be courteous of others
  • No sleeping overnight in the lounge

LOUNGE CALENDAR
The lounge is open 24/7 to all graduate students in the NIH Intramural Research Program.  However, reservations for areas of the lounge may be requested by NIH graduate students and GPP Partnership Directors.  Reservations for the Main Lounge and Dining/Kitchen areas are semi-private.
