The FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, Office of Therapeutic Products, Office of Gene Therapy is recruiting to a Staff Fellow in the Gene Transfer and Immunogenicity Branch.
About the position
The Office of Therapeutic Products protects and enhances public health by assuring that cell-based and gene-based therapeutic products are safe and effective for public use. Successful candidates will conduct laboratory research characterizing induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) cell and gene therapy products and develop novel strategies to assess the safety of these products. They will also participate in the regulatory review of cell and gene therapy product applications submitted to the FDA.

This position will be filled through the Service Fellowship program, with an initial appointment period followed by opportunities for renewal. Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Biomedical Science or an equivalent doctoral degree (M.D., D.V.M., or Sc.D., etc.) is required. Candidates must also have strong collaborative abilities, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. Preferably, candidates will have postdoctoral experience in molecular biology, cell biology or immunology. Expertise in stem cell biology, genome editing, high throughput sequencing, 3D organoids, and/or gene delivery systems is highly desirable.
