Postdoctoral Fellow

The Laboratory of Heart Disease Phenomics, NHLBI, is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our multidisciplinary research team studying the molecular determinants of cardiometabolic diseases.

About the position

Successful candidates will leveraging large, deeply-phenotyped population cohorts and state-of-the-art multi-omics platforms to advance our work at the interface of epidemiology, molecular biology, and computational science. Prospective fellows will engage in team-based, collaborative projects exploring novel biomarkers, evaluating disease mechanisms, and assessing integrative risk prediction methods. As an NIH Intramural Research laboratory, we offer access to exceptional resources, including state-of-the-art technologies, biorepositories, and patient cohorts, as well as the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative research environment. Our goal is to provide potential fellows with exceptional opportunities for career development, training, and professional mentorship.

This appointment is intended for in-person work at the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications include:

  • A PhD, MD-MPH, or equivalent degree in epidemiology, molecular biology, biostatistics, computational biology, or a related field.
  • Strong quantitative skills and experience with statistical programming (R, Python, SAS).
  • Experience with large-scale '-omics' or population-based datasets.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to be self-directed while simultaneously able to work collaboratively.
  • A strong publication record commensurate with applicants career stages.
