Job

Postdoctoral Fellow (FDA)

The Division of Cell Therapy, within the Office of Cellular Therapy and Human Tissue at the US FDA Center for Biologics Evaluation and Researches is now seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team.

About the position

The Center for Biologics Evaluation and Researches mission is to protect and enhance public health through the regulation of biological and related products, including blood, vaccines, allergenics, tissues, and cellular and gene therapies. As a postdoctoral fellow in our lab, your research project will focus on advancing the development and manufacturing of CRISPR/Cas9-edited hematopoietic stem cell therapeutics. Prospective fellows will gain experience in cutting-edge genome editing techniques as they are applied to human hematopoietic stem cell therapeutics and related cell types.

Our lab operates at the intersection of stem cell biology, gene therapy, and nanomedicine, addressing one of the most significant challenges in our field: the achievement of safe and effective delivery of gene-editing machinery to hematopoietic stem cells. Fellows will utilize state-of-the-art manufacturing tools and methodologies to investigate and optimize ex vivo HSC-gene editing and expansion protocols. They will gain comprehensive training in the design, development, and optimization of novel lipid nanoparticle formulations specifically engineered for efficient gene editing.

This training opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking to contribute to the advancement of non-viral delivery platforms that could transform the landscape of HSC-based gene therapies and cellular therapeutics.
