We are recruiting candidates for a fully funded postdoctoral position in the Meier Laboratory at the National Cancer Institute, NIH located in Frederick, MD. Our research focuses on understanding the role of chemical modifications in gene expression control, with the goal of defining new targets for cancer treatment. Recent advances include defining RNA acetylation as a gene regulatory mechanism (Sci Adv, NAR, Cell 2025) and characterizing first-in-class HAT inhibitors (JACS 2024, BioRxiv 2025).
About the position
For this posting, we are seeking candidates interested in advancing one or more of the following areas: 1) RNA modification biology and sequencing technology development, and/or 2) high-throughput and massively parallel approaches to studying RNA modification function We are part of the Chemical Biology Laboratory, an integrated and collegial unit comprising seven research groups located on the NCI’s Frederick, MD campus, and benefit from the exceptional scientific environment and collaborative opportunities of the NIH Intramural Research Program. Qualifications
Competitive candidates will have a strong background in RNA biology, molecular biology, chemical biology, or a related discipline. Experience with sequencing-based assays is a plus.
