PostDoctoral Fellow in Complex Disease Genomics

The Childhood Complex Disease Genomics Section (CCDGS) in the Center for Precision Health Research (CPHR), NHGRI/NIH undertakes translational genomics research in childhood complex diseases, including malnutrition and childhood-onset essential hypertension (COEH), to define disease mechanisms and therapeutic targets.

About the position

The CCDGS seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow with expertise in human genetics, multi-omics, and computational biology to undertake integrated analyses of multi-omic datasets, including genomic, epigenomic, and transcriptomic data from diverse global populations generated in house. Analyses will utilize the high-performance computing cluster at the NIH alongside cloud-based machine learning models.

Qualifications

Well suited candidates will have

  1. A recent (within the last 3 years) or eminent Ph.D./M.D. in Genetics, Genomics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field
  2. Experience in human genetics and large-scale omics data;
  3. proficiency in R and/or Python;
  4. experience working in high-performance computing (HPC) environments.

Additional experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Terra, AnVIL, GCP) and scalable/reproducible workflows is highly desired.
