Job

Postdoctoral Fellow in Viral Immunology

The Emerging Virus Immunity Unit is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated candidate to join our group to work toward developing novel therapeutics by understanding antibody-based protection against emerging viruses.

About the position

A funded postdoctoral position is available in the Emerging Virus Immunity Unit in the Laboratory of Viral Diseases (LVD), NIAID. The LVD offers an outstanding intellectual and research environment with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities in the backdrop of the resources and collaborative atmosphere of the NIH. Our group studies immunity to alphaviruses, focusing on the interplay between antibodies and the innate and adaptive immune response. Research in the unit includes identifying correlates of immunity, requirements for antibody effector functions, and viral pathogenesis, primarily using mouse models of alphavirus infection. The project for the successful candidate will use a variety of approaches, including mouse models, molecular biology, flow cytometry, and antibody production. This work will provide insight into novel therapeutic approaches.
