The Mineral Homeostasis Unit is recruiting for a postdoctoral position in the laboratory of Dr. Kelly Roszko.
About the position
Dr. Roszko’s translational laboratory focuses on understanding disorders of altered mineral homeostasis and developing novel methods of prevention and treatment. The ultimate goal of the lab is to determine the mechanism of calcification in a disorder of FGF23 deficiency and to develop novel molecularly targeted therapies for disorders of bone and mineral metabolism.
The work will entail using genomics approaches (such as single-cell and bulk RNA-Seq and spatial transcriptomics), animal models, in vitro models, and human specimens to elucidate the triggers and mechanism for calcification in FGF23 deficiency.

Qualifications
The position is open to individuals with a PhD degree and less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience.
The successful applicant will be expected to lead their own projects, contribute to collaborative research efforts in the laboratory, and publish first author papers in peer reviewed journals.
A background in cell or molecular biology including experience with RNAseq/spatial transcriptomics and transgenic mouse models is highly desirable. Most important is high-quality previous research.
Applicants should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
