The NIA Neuromuscular Diseases Research Section is now seeking applications for a postdoctoral fellow to develop as an independent scientist within a dynamic, collaborative intramural research environment at NIH in Bethesda, MD.
About the position
Prospective fellows will lead and contribute to assigned research projects focused on the genetics and biology of neurodegenerative disease. This fellow will analyze and integrate genomic, proteomic, and other '-omics' datasets, preferably in the context of neurological diseases.
This fellow will be expected to work collaboratively with investigators, trainees, and research staff within our section and across collaborating laboratories. They will also be asked to prepare manuscripts for publication and present research findings at national and international meetings.

Qualifications
Prospective applicants should have a Ph.D., an M.D., or a related doctoral degree in neuroscience, genetics, bioinformatics, computational biology, and/or a related field.
Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in neurogenetics and experience analyzing large-scale genomic, proteomic, and other '-omics' data. Candidates with strengths in statistical genetics, bioinformatics, computational biology, data integration, or neurodegenerative disease research are especially encouraged to apply.
