The Ye Lab, led by Principal Investigator Qi Ye, Ph.D., at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute Cancer Research Center in Washington, DC, is seeking full-time and part-time Research Assistants to join our team on Jan 5, 2026. Our research focuses on glioma, the most aggressive form of primary brain tumor. Utilizing genetically engineered mouse and human glioma models, our lab investigates how glioma cells interact with the tumor microenvironment to drive malignant progression.
About the position
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage transgenic mouse lines, including tail tagging, genotyping (standard PCR), and maintaining detailed mouse inventory records.
- Perform mouse harvesting and tissue processing.
- Conduct DNA preparation (mini- and maxi-preps).
- Support general lab operations, including ordering supplies, record-keeping, and instrument maintenance.

Qualifications
Required qualification:
- B.A./B.S. in Biology, Neuroscience, Chemistry, or a related scientific field, with an emphasis on wet lab experience.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred qualification:
- Hands-on experience with rodent handling in a research lab setting.
- Familiarity with basic molecular biology techniques.
- Experience with lab project management is a plus.
