Postdoc/Fellow Appreciation Week

To recognize and raise awareness of the significant contribution that postdoctoral and clinical fellows make to the US scientific endeavor, the National Postdoc Association (NPA) has declared the week of September 16, 2019 Postdoc Appreciation Week. NPA members at universities nationwide are organizing events to mark this day.

Here at NIH, we will celebrate Fellows Appreciation Week on most campuses.  We will have events, treats and more, which will include as many of the approximately 3000 NIH postdocs and clinical fellows as can be gathered.

Please join us to celebrate the hard-working postdoc and clinical fellow community we have here at NIH.

ALL Fellows:Gallery of Us project

FelCom would like to celebrate all the great work that you do as trainees at the NIH. We would like to organize a small exhibit of pictures and uplifting stories of us - NIH fellows-- by us (the NIH fellows). Our goal is to highlight the amazing lives of NIH postdocs and fellows. Inspired by the “Humans of New York” webpage, this project aims to capture the spirit and diversity of NIH postdocs. So, let’s show the NIH who we are. Please send us a picture of yourself with a short description about your life as an NIH postdoc. Where are you from? How did you end up at NIH? What do you like about working here? What makes postdoc-ing at the NIH special? What are you the most proud of from your time at the NIH? The pictures will be exhibited at FAES terrace during the Fellows Appreciation ice cream social* on Sept 18 at 3:30 PM at the FAES Terrace. The best picture and story will be awarded* by a career development book (*not paid for with government funds). Please send your pictures (4 by 6 inches; 300dpi) and stories (1 paragraph) by September 12th to ellaulrike.klenke@nih.gov . If you have any questions, please send them to helena.farkasova@nih.gov .
