Britney Hardy is the Director for HiSTEP and an Educational Advisor. Britney is dedicated to assisting NIH trainees in meeting their professional, research and career goals. As Director of HiSTEP, Britney directs all aspects of the program (curriculum development, teaching & mentoring) for the high school interns. As an educational advisor, Britney prepares trainees for graduate and professional schools with one-on-one advising, workshops, and other professional development opportunities.
Britney started her career as a microbiologist, receiving a B.S. in Biological Sciences: Microbiology from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2012. She went on to complete a Ph.D. in Emerging Infectious Diseases at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in 2020 and completed a postdoc at the National Cancer Institute in 2022 before joining OITE.
