Lab Manager (Children's National Hospital)

The Bone & Marrow Transplant Lab at Children's National Hospital is now hiring a Laboratory Manager.

About the position

This prospective Lab Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of our FACT-accredited stem cell processing wing of the cellular therapy laboratory. This individual will be expected to liaision between the cellular therapy laboratory and our clinical stem cell transplantation division, the division of oncology, and other clinical teams.

This position will manage a group of approximately five staff. As such, this Lab Manager will oversee and perform necessary clinical stem cell processing such as cryopreservation, T cell receptor alpha/beta and CD19 depletion, and red blood cell depletion. They will also be responsible for managing the logistics of supporting commercial gene therapies.

Other responsibilities include working collaboratively other clinical divisions to ensure the safe delivery and performance of clinical products according to the highest quality standards, participating and/or leading quality improvement initiatives, utilizing resources effectively, onboarding and training of new and existing staff, and the communication of ideas and concerns to program leadership, including effective management of the program budget.
