Job

Postdoctoral Fellow

The Unit on Cellular Stress in Development and Diseases, of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), is seeking applications for Postdoctoral Fellows.

About the position

The UCSDD is conducts clinical, translational, and bench research on rare neurologic conditions including CLN3 (Juvenile Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis) and MEHMO syndrome (Mental disability, Epilepsy, Hypopituitarism/Hypogonadism, Microcephaly, Obesity). We are now seeking post-doctoral level scientists interested in developing and implementing molecular, biochemical, and multi-omic approaches to assess how cellular stresses affect cellular development, regulate mRNA transcription and translation, and impact human disease pathophysiology.

For prospective postdoctoral fellows, knowledge of cellular biology, experience performing experiments that evaluate the integrated stress response pathway, a history of analyzing multi-omic data sets are all highly desirable. Experience working with induced pluripotent stem cells, iPSC-derived cells, organoids, and transcriptomic technology is also beneficial. A history of translational research will be considered advantageous.

NICHD provides excellent support via our core research facilities. Additional information and useful information about NIH post-doctoral fellowship training positions can be found here.
