Job

Postdoctoral Fellow

About the position

A funded postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately in our group (Inherited Neuromuscular Diseases Unit, PI Dr. Chris Grunseich) in the Neurogenetics Branch, NINDS.

We are a translational science lab working on developing treatments for patients with inherited forms of neuromuscular disease. The goal of our research is to develop new approaches for tracking disease progression and developing treatment. We use clinical and molecular techniques to study the disease mechanism, and develop disease related biomarkers to help guide the development of new treatments. The lab uses patient-derived models to characterize molecular pathways leading to degeneration, and is working on designing and testing precision therapeutic approaches focused on the underlying disease mechanism.
