Cell Biology
The mission of our research group is to dissect quantitative cellular dynamics, proteomics, protein homeostasis, and metabolic pathways that drive tumor progression and therapy resistance. We apply a microscope-to-stethoscope approach that combines basic cell biology investigations with clinical translation.
About the position
The successful candidate will lead projects investigating these fundamental processes, conduct independent research, deploy advanced imaging and proteomic tools, manage scientific pipelines, and collaborate across multidisciplinary research teams.
The candidate will integrate bioengineered tool development with high-resolution imaging approaches. To gain systemic insights into cancer mechanisms, the candidate will combine quantitative proteomic profiling across gel-based and gel-free mass spectrometry workflows with biochemical, single-cell, and metabolomics-based assays. Through these platforms, the candidate will evaluate post-translational modifications, ubiquitin-proteasome dynamics, metabolic switches, and protein homeostasis mechanisms to drive mechanism deconvolution, pathway interrogation, biomarker discovery, target identification, and therapeutic strategy optimization.
Prospective Staff Scientists will work as a lead project scientist in our laboratory, report directly to the Principal Investigator, and be responsible for driving scientific initiatives, managing experimental pipelines, and maintaining scientific oversight. They will be expected to analyze quantitative datasets independently and in a time-efficient manner using robust, defensible methods, author high-impact peer-reviewed manuscripts, present scientific findings at national and international conferences, and assist in experimental protocol development.
Staff scientists are also expected to provide technical guidance, scientific instruction, and daily mentorship to post-baccalaureate, graduate, and postdoctoral fellows within the laboratory.
